OUR STORY

The University of Calabar Theatre Arts Alumni Association (UCTAAA), a.k.a The COURTYARD is an assemblage of graduates of the Department of Theatre Arts now Department of Theatre and Media Studies, University of Calabar, engaged in different fields of human endeavor within and outside Nigeria.

As graduates of this great and enviable Department, we are bound by the love that had existed, and which continues to exist amongst us, as we advocate and cater for the welfare of members and growth of the Association, by addressing critical issues with the potentials to impact positively on members, our alma mater and society in general!

Therefore, like any other family, UCTAAA seeks nothing but the overall welfare, well-being and prosperity of every family member!

  Building on the foundation laid by the tenets and demands of the Theatre, we are Professionals Bound by experiential knowledge, love, the power of synergy and an uncommon worldview to look out …one for the other!

  • To encourage, foster and promote close relations among the Alumni themselves;
  • To promote a sustained sense of belonging to the Alma Mater among the Alumni by being in regular contact with them;
  • To provide and disseminate information regarding our Alma Mater, its Graduates, and Students to the Alumni;
  • To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas on academic, cultural and social issues of the day, by organizing and coordinating Reunion activities of the Alumni;
  • To guide and encourage Alumni who have recently completed their course of study at The Courtyard to be productive and useful to the society;
  • To assist and support each other and our Alma Mater in any little way we can for development.
